Lauryn Menz-Grand Champion Hog
My name is Lauryn Menz and I am entering the 11th grade at Red Hook High School. I play Field Hockey for Red Hook. I’ve been in 4H since I was 6 years old. I have been showing dairy goats for 10 years and hogs for 8 years. I’m in 4H because I love to take care of my goats and hog and continue to learn and develop my skills from my 4H leaders and mentors. I get very attached and it’s always difficult to let go of my hog in the sale. She’s raised with the very best of care and attention, but she is raised for a purpose. The sale of my project animal will help for my savings for my college education and for next year’s project animal. Thank you for attending the livestock sale.

Ryder Fitzpatrick- Grand Champion Poultry RC 13.8lbs
My name is Ryder Fitzpatrick. I am 8 years of age and I will be starting fourth grade. I have been raising and showing hogs since the early age of 5. This will be my first year as a 4-H member, as well as selling the youth livestock sale. Raising livestock can be very hard work and difficult at times, but I take great pride in raising my animals. Twice every day I go through my chores making sure all animals have fresh clean water, dry clean pens, the proper amount of food, check them for injuries/difference in behavior/socialize and give them love. Even though they are 4-H projects and will be sold, I raise them as if they were just for me.
