Amelia Brewer

Grand Project/Grand Live Placing 6.9/6.5 Rabbit Hi, my name is Amelia Brewer. I am 17 years old and live in Elba and entering my senior year. My passions are showing dairy cows and raising Havana rabbits. In the past Ive sold two dairy steers, a pen of meat chickens, and this is my first year selling meat rabbits. Ive been the Master Rabbit Showman for the last 3 years. I enjoy raising and showing my Havana rabbits because I find having rabbits is relaxing and not as crazy as showing cows. Please consider purchasing my satin market rabbits.

The auction will be Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Genesee County Fairgrounds. I will be auctioning off two pairs of market chickens. My favorite thing about raising meat chickens was showing them at the market chicken show. My market birds were on average 7 lbs. The frozen chickens will be ready for you to pick up immediately following the auction. I will be auctioning off one pair of market rabbits. My favorite thing about raising market rabbits is watching them grow from birth to fair. The market rabbits will be ready for processing after Sunday, August 1st, 2022. I thank you for supporting me in my 4H projects this year. I look forward to seeing you on auction night at the Genesee County Fairgrounds. Sincerely, Liam Robert Baker

Maura Grimes

Rabbit 6.14/7.2 My name is Maura Grimes and I live in Alexander. I have been a member of many different 4H clubs within Genesee County for the last four years. Now that summer is in full swing and as a 4-her, the fair is starting soon, I was able to try out a new aspect of the Fur & Feather club this year which is raising Market Rabbits. I have worked hard to raise top quality meat rabbits. I have learned lots about caring for the rabbits and making sure they are well fed and taken care of. I have several pet rabbits and meat rabbits feed differently and I have learned how to care for each kind differently. I have raised a pair of Californian Rabbits GC 15 and GC 16. I have learned how important it is to take responsibility for the rabbits. This was my first year raising rabbits for the auction and I hope to see you there and try some rabbit.

Claire Lamb

Grand Project/Grand Live Placing Poultry 10.12/10.9 Hello, my name is Claire Lamb. I am 10 years old and am a member of the Genesee County Fur & Feather and Dairy Clubs. This is my first year participating in the market poultry program. I am entering 5th grade at Oakfield-Alabama Central School where I am involved with Band, Chorus and Run Club. Outside of school I enjoy playing basketball, riding horses, and helping out on my family's dairy farm. This was my first year participating in the market poultry project. I have really enjoyed raising my market chickens and have learned a lot! I cared for my chickens from the time they arrived, giving them lots of food and water. We also weighed them and tracked their growth. Of course, there was also the baths to get the chickens nice and clean before the show. The market poultry show was held on Saturday, July 2nd; I was really happy with the outcome, as one of my pairs was named Grand Champion! Both of my entries received blue ribbons. My chickens grew really well, weighing 10 pounds, so I think they will be very tasty. I have really enjoyed this market poultry project!
