Poultry - Peyton Mest

8.0, 7.5; Hi, my name is Peyton Mest. I am fifteen years old and I am in the Barnyard Crew 4-H club. This is my tenth year in 4-H and my seventh year raising broiler chickens. The broiler chicken program has taught me many important life skills such as time-management, responsibility, and marketing. I fed my birds twenty four percent protein crumbles and they always had access to fresh water. I selected a pair of roosters with similar weights, even breasts, and a straight breast bone to ensure a quality product. Thank you for supporting 4-H and I hope to see you at the fair!

Poultry - Skyler Schuster

8.0, 8.5; My name is Skyler Schuster, I am 9 years old and this is my first year in 4-H.  I am a member of High Hill Spurs and Saddles.  I joined 4-H with my horseback riding teacher and will be showing a horse this year at the fair and thought that the meat chicken project would be a fun experience to add to my first year in 4-H.  I started raising Barred Rock, Bantam and Black Maran chickens this past spring and the meat chicken project is my first experience with meat chickens.  I learned that they eat a lot and grow very fast.  I couldn’t believe how big they got, and I cannot wait to sell them at auction this year.  I hope that whoever purchases my chickens enjoys them and knows that I truly appreciate the support!  Thank you again for showing interest in my project chickens.

Poultry - Gavin Bernard

7.0, 6.5; My name is Gavin Bernard. I am in the Wyoming 4-H Back 2 Basics club. I am 9 years old, however this is my first year showing broiler chickens. This experience has been fun and interesting. I have learned that it takes a lot of work and discipline to care for my 12 chickens. It was best to have a good schedule from the beginning to give them the best care. This schedule included feeding, watering and cleaning out their pen. It was so exciting watching them grow so fast in such a short span of time!
